Bhupendra Singh Rana
(AKA Bhupi)

Founder of the Ganga Kayak Festival - the much traveled Bhupi is known as India’s “Mr. Kayaking”. His endeavors have helped kayaking win new converts in the country. In 2013 he organized the first ever extreme kayaking competition called the “Ganga Kayak Festival” in Feb 2013 in Rishikesh, India. The event turned out to be a great success and gave some much needed exposure to kayaking in India. The dream of organizing this event stems from Bhupi’s constant desire to help his community. Having been fortunate enough to travel outside of India to other countries to kayak, he felt that he should help his fellow Indian kayakers to create a platform for them to showcase their skills at a competitive level. Bhupi is the first Indian white water kayaker to be sponsored by an international brand, NRS and the first Indian athlete to compete in the Adidas Sickline Extreme Kayaking World Championship in Austria in 2012. Bhupi dreams of one day kayaking on every continent in the world.2014 


Bheem Singh Chauhan

Bheem is one of the most experienced outdoor instructors in the Indian Himalayas with much national and international experience under his belt. Bheem has excellent leadership skills and is one of the most important members of the team. He is always willing to go above and beyond to get the job done. When you can’t find Bheem on the river then he has most likely packed his paraglide and is flying somewhere in the mountains.


Harendra Singh Rawat
(AKA Gappu)
Joint secretary (Water sports)

Gappu was born and raised on the bank of the Holi Ganga. The outdoors comes naturally to him. Gappu is one of the most senior river guides in India and has also been guiding in Norway for the last 3 years. He has led many multiday expeditions in India. In his free time,Gappu enjoys kayaking and teaching yoga.



Vipin Sharma

Vipin’s original desire was to pursue a career in painting or graphic design before he heard about rafting in 1996. He studied raft guiding and trekking in the Himalayas and also got his certification for advanced mountaineering by WHMI - Manali. Vipin later started his own, well known company, Red Chilli Adventure, in Rishikesh. He has been actively involved in rafting, trekking and his recent new love, paragliding. Vipin’s love for travel has taken him to many places around the world. When he is not busy in the office or the outdoors, he is keeping his artistic side alive by designing websites, logos and taking pictures.

Vikash Singh Bhandari

Vikash is from Rishikesh and is a very passionate outdoor lover. His dedication and hard work makes him a responsible person and a valuable team member.


Dhruv Naresh Rana
(AKA Rana)

Rana is very enthusiastic and one of the most senior river guides in the nation. He has been trip leading, guiding and safety kayaking for over 18 years and has done numerous successful first descents on rivers around India, Nepal, China and Zambia. He is also a multiple time national rafting and kayaking champion who represented India in the International championships.


Nitin Goel


Nitin is from Rishikesh, upon completion of his MBA degree followed by numerous jobs in the corporate world he finally decided to change life and own a very successful outdoor retail shop, Adventure Axis in Rishikesh, India.

Ramesh Rawat

Ramesh trained at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. He has been a part of more than 20 Himalayan expeditions. Ramesh has actively paddled the majority of the rivers located in the Indian Himalayas. He has recently developed a passion for mountain biking and has done some long distance bike trips in Tibet, South India and Arunachal. Ramesh has a vested interest in social work which leads him to assisting the development, training and encouragement of the young generation of men in the Himalayas.

Ayodhya Prasad


Ayodhya is from Srinagar (Garhwal). He is natural outdoor enthusiast who has an extraordinary passion for kayaking. This passion, dedication and hard work make him one of India’s finest kayakers. Ayodhya brings knowledge of the competitive kayaking world to TASS and will assist in the event planning and organization of different TASS events.

Dinesh Prasad (AKA Dinu)


Dinesh-PrasadDinu hails from a little village called Shivpuri on the bank of the River Ganga. Dinu has been kayaking for 10 years and has recently taken his career to a competitive level by competing in GKF 2013 and the Nepal Rodeo in Nov 2013. He will be a great asset to TASS as he will be part of the event planning and organization team.
